The first Amicae chapter was chartered by Gertrude Lucas Craig, Belma Mahan Hawkins, Asilee Doston Garland, and Lucyle Avant, all associated with the Beta Psi Zeta Chapter. Their leadership in establishing that initial Amicae chapter shows how ZPB expanded its circle of service and sisterhood beyond the collegiate level. The other individuals listed are known for different roles within the sorority, but the historical record credits these four for inaugurating the very first Amicae chapter.
